Turkish giants Beşiktaş have officially reached an agreement to sign midfielder Orkun Kökçü from Portuguese club Benfica ahead of the new season.
The 23-year-old Turkey international, who joined Benfica from Feyenoord in 2023, has been linked with a return to the Turkish Süper Lig, and Beşiktaş have now finalized terms to bring him to Istanbul.
Kökçü is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Black Eagles after completing his medicals in the coming days. The deal marks a significant reinforcement for the club's midfield options.
“Coming back to Turkey with a club like Beşiktaş is a special moment in my career,” Kökçü stated. “I’m looking forward to the challenge and to contributing to the team’s goals.”
Known for his passing range, vision, and leadership qualities, Kökçü is expected to slot into a key role under the club’s tactical plans. His experience in European competitions and with the Turkish national team adds further value to the squad.
This signing reflects Beşiktaş's ambition to rebuild and compete strongly in both domestic and continental tournaments in the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
