NAPOLI SUBMIT €55M OFFER FOR LIVERPOOL'S DARWIN NUNEZ AS CONTE AIMS TO BOLSTER TITLE-WINNING SQUAD

EL-ZION NEWS

Napoli have officially made their move to sign Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, submitting a formal offer valued at €55 million (£47m/$64m). As newly appointed manager Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his Serie A title-winning squad, the Uruguayan international has emerged as a key target to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the 2025–26 season.

The Italian champions view Nunez as a top priority following a recent meeting between club president Aurelio De Laurentiis and the player’s representative, Fali Ramadani. The discussions reportedly laid the groundwork for a serious push to bring the 25-year-old forward to Naples.

Reports indicate that Napoli’s offer includes €50 million upfront, along with an additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses. The club is also prepared to offer Nunez a salary in the region of €5 to €6 million per year to lure him to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

“Darwin is a powerful forward with high intensity, and that’s the kind of profile Conte loves,” a source close to the deal revealed. Napoli have also been monitoring alternative targets like Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca, but Nunez remains their preferred choice despite his higher price tag.

The Uruguayan, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022, is reportedly open to a move after seeing his role at Anfield diminish under increased competition. With new tactical approaches and emerging talents pushing him down the pecking order, the striker is believed to be keen on a fresh start in Serie A.

“The chance to work under a manager like Antonio Conte is a major factor,” a source close to the player added. “Darwin is excited by the prospect of playing a central role in a title-defending team.”

With pre-season preparations underway in England—Liverpool are scheduled to resume training on Tuesday before facing Preston in a friendly on July 13—the clock is ticking for both clubs to finalize an agreement. Should the deal materialize, it would mark a major summer statement from Napoli as they seek to retain domestic dominance and make a deeper push in European competition.
